Character Descriptions - The Philo

* Indicates roles open to performers of any gender. Neos will be cast male-identifying. If Phil is cast female, Daimon will also be cast female to preserve their relationship within the play.

*CHIEF PHIL (40–60 Gender-neutral)
A former Warrant Officer and legendary military sniper. Brilliant, fiercely independent, and haunted by the moral cost of the missions they carried out, Phil has spent nine months in self-imposed exile after being betrayed by the very government they served. Beneath a hardened exterior is someone searching for redemption without surrendering their principles.

*GENERAL URI (45–65 Gender-neutral)
A powerful government official and master manipulator. Calm, intelligent, and utterly convinced that the ends justify the means, Uri sees people as assets to be deployed in service of the state. Charming when necessary, ruthless when required.

NEOS (20–35 Male-identifying)
A gifted tracker and con artist with a criminal past. Resourceful, observant, and capable of becoming whoever circumstances demand, Neos is offered freedom in exchange for one impossible mission. As his deception begins to unravel, he must decide where his true loyalty lies.

*PENELOPE (30–60 Gender-neutral)
A mysterious shepherd living in the wilderness. Compassionate, resilient, and deeply connected to the land, Penelope has become Phil's closest companion during exile. More than a caretaker, they are Phil's confidant, protector, and emotional anchor.

*DAIMON (Any Age, Gender-neutral)
The physical manifestation of Phil's conscience. By turns accusatory, sardonic, compassionate, and relentless, Daimon gives voice to the thoughts Phil cannot escape. This role requires exceptional emotional range and precision.

*COLONEL STÓCHOS (35–60 Gender-neutral)
A senior military officer caught between duty and conscience. Professional, disciplined, and increasingly conflicted, Stóchos begins to question the system they helped build as the truth behind Phil's mission comes to light.
