Sonoran Repertory Theatre was founded on the belief that great stories never stop being relevant.

The classics have survived for centuries because they continue to speak to us. The names, settings, and costumes may change, but the questions remain the same: Who are we? What do we owe each other? How do we face love, loss, ambition, family, justice, and change?

Those stories are at the heart of what we do.

At Sonoran Rep, we produce classical works, original adaptations, and new plays that explore those same timeless ideas through a contemporary lens. Whether it's Shakespeare, Greek drama, a story drawn from history, or a world premiere by a living playwright, our goal is always the same: to create theatre that feels immediate, accessible, and meaningful to today's audiences.

As a resident company at Third Street Theatre in Downtown Phoenix, we are proud to be part of Arizona's artistic community and its ongoing cultural story.

But Sonoran Rep is about more than producing plays. It is about building something that lasts.

The theatres that inspired us exist because someone decades ago believed they were worth creating. We hope to do the same. Our goal is to build a company that will continue to serve Arizona audiences, support Arizona artists, and develop new work long after its founders are gone.
